Primary Sex Offender Treatment is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
This type of therapy looks at how you think about things going on in your life. It considers your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes (cognitive process) and how this impacts on the way you behave. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) looks at how you can change any negative patterns of thinking or behaviour that may be causing you difficulties. Talking and changing behaviour can help you change how you think and what you do. This can make you feel better about life.
Primary Sex Offender Treatment gives opportunity to:

Find and explore the triggers to your offending
Challenge attitudes, beliefs and distorted thinking
Develop the motivation to not offend
Understand the affects on victims
Recognise your risk factors

This treatment is for men who have already completed Primary Sex Offender Treatment and who are able to give an active offence account.
By using Dr Tony Wards Good Lives Model, men are able to:
Practice coping skills relevant to those risk areas identified in a Progress in Treatment report.
Identify new treatment needs and develop management strategies
Refresh and revise already existing skills.
Manage live issues
Set goals for a better life
Improve emotional control, relationship and intimacy skills and develop a better sexual attitude
